WenYou documents privacy factually. Generic "we take privacy seriously" language is avoided where specifics are unknown.

Per-contact privacy controls (confirmed)

• Hide your last-seen status from a specific contact
• Hide your status/stories from a specific contact, or hide theirs from you
• Mute or unmute notifications per contact
• Block calls per contact
• Favorite or unfavorite conversations
• Self-destructing messages — toggleable per conversation (off by default in the example configuration)

Data categories

Messages: Online messages are end-to-end encrypted. SMS messages use the carrier network.

Location: Shared as Google Maps links via online chat or SMS depending on connectivity.

Contacts, account info, analytics, servers, third parties, deletion: Not publicly specified yet.
